While working for Issey Miyake, she created her own design firm called Soma Designs and Somarta was part of this umbrella organization that also included graphic design and sound direction. The Somarta Spring/Summer 2012 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in particular was inspired by falcons and thunderbirds. Outfits including bodysuits made of fishnets (a signature item of the label) and graphic prints. The bird theme was seen in the intricacy of the hair as well as the details.
