I mean my problem with the several last seasons is that the clothes, even though the clothes are fresh and lovely and airy and light, they always were clothes that basically looked terrific on 22 year olds, and 22 year olds don\'t have the money to buy this stuff.\" 3. Elie Saab posing for photos SAAB UNVEILS CREATIONS FOR A STRONG WOMAN Elie Saab - the Lebanese-born designer with the knack of getting Hollywood A-listers to don his beautiful gowns - sent out his ready-to-wear Autumn Winter collection on Sunday (March 4.) Elie Saab unveiled his vision of a woman with a domineering edge and a natural instinct for power. He said of his new collection, \"This time because I saw one woman, very strong, and I liked to work around that and it\'s only because I like the character of one woman that I made this,\" he said. His new energetic ready-to-wear collection signified a break with the usual cocktail outfits and princess dresses in favour of looks that were more active. Body-skimming lines, embroidered jackets, and slim skirts were the defining elements of a wardrobe created for a woman who is sure of herself and her style. Fitted skirts and wide belts were cinched in the waist, while elsewhere the silhouette was liberated by architectural cuts with a strong sixties slant. Trapeze dresses and flared sleeves were gathered at the cuff lending structure to coat-dresses and day jackets in black lurex denim. Capelets were worn with halter back dresses and jet embroidery. The sombre colour palette was infused with touches of violet and emerald green. But black took pride of place with moire, shiny and sparkly finishes. Elie Saab breathed modernity into evening wear by introducing black faux leather on a shiny bustier embroidered with Ostrich feathers. He used black jersey to lend casual fluidity to elegant evening dresses. Transparent blouses in lace or chiffon flirted with leather in a suggestive marriage of lightness and corsetry. Gloves, short leather boots and patent leather handbags added the finishing touch to the power look.
