'Kate admitted she had faced challenges as a mother and claims all mothers lack support as she spoke with other women at the event. The Duchess, 37, visited the charity on Monday to launch a new national support line, called FamilyLine. She wore a dress by London-based designer Beulah, which supports abused women. Kate said: “It’s so hard. You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days but after the age of one it falls away. “After that there isn’t a huge amount - lots of books to read.” The Duchess of Cambridge has three children - Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, eight months. Despite having a line-in-nanny Maria Borrallo and a housekeeper to help, the Duchess explained there were still times when she felt a sense of isolation. She sat in on a role-playing training session for FamilyLine volunteers and staff, listening to someone playing a new mother who is isolated and down. Volunteer and fellow mother-of-three Sagari Sarkar was impressed by Kate’s understanding and experience of the issues. She said: “I think it makes her human. It makes her in touch. “She is a parent, a very active parent and I think that’s what people like about her.” Ms Sarkar added: “The reason why she’s a great supporter of our service is that she does recognise that families have the same pressures and struggles and she’s no exception. “She may have slightly different circumstances to the rest of us but, you know, being a parent is a parent. “We all have the same struggles and challenges.” The helpline has been piloted for the last 12 months and is now running as a nationwide service. Kate also met young carers who look after a parent or sibling and talked to them about worries of being bullied if people were to find out they are carers. She praised the young people and their ability to manage school work with their home duties. She said: “You all do an amazing job. I don’t know how you do it.”'
