'Alyssa received the highest award in Girl Scouts, the Gold Award, for her project \"Fashion and Hope.\" With her project, Fashion and Hope, Alyssa addressed feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and depression among young female hospital patients. Alyssa worked with design houses to create fashionable and functional hospital gowns that do not open in the back, providing a higher level of privacy and coverage to young patients. In addition, Alyssa created a YouTube video to teach others how to make the couture gowns at home. Through Fashion and Hope, Alyssa donated gowns to hospitals in Nevada, New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, California, and London! She plans to continue her project and is currently in talks with hospitals in Texas, Florida, Japan, and Australia. Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is proud to recognize Alyssa C. as a 2019 Gold Award Girl Scout!
