'The inspiration behind Malva Florea FW2020/21 collection was 17-18th century glassware, especially Ukrainian ornamental goota glass. ‘Goota’ (hutte) in both German and Latin means ‘drop’. That is how people in Western Europe used to call glass blowing workshops in ancient times. The ‘goota\' method, that is, free modelling directly beside the glass-heating device. These products are not for mass production, of course, but are to a certain degree highly individualized pieces. The 18th century was a flourishing era of glass art in Ukraine. Everything made and decorated by the master in the process of glass blowing, had a dynamic plastic shape. The well-kept examples show us that Ukrainian glassblowers were incredibly talented artists and skilled artisans.'
