'Brighten up your wardrobe with classic, smart and casual staples from our Spring Summer Collection. Browse and watch more M&S TV here: http://www.marksandspencer.com/Holiday-Mens/b/528588031 Nick Carvel, fashion editor of GQ.co.uk finds solutions to summer menswear issues whether you\'re headed to a summer wedding or somewhere a bit more coastal. Here to talk you through all you need to know for high summer this coming season, with a little help from Marks and Spencer. So the first item that you\'re going to want to invest in next season is a briton striped jumper, like this one here. It\'s great for by the pool if you\'re wearing your shorts and it\'s really good with chinos and a nice pair of white sneakers, if you\'re going to the bar in the evening and if you\'re feeling really bold you can also put this under a really nice khaki coloured, single-breasted suit. Another item that you\'re going to want to put on your summer shopping list is a button-down shirt. Not only is going to look really good when you throw it on with your casual trousers, but should you need it, if you need to smarten up but don\'t want to be too buttoned up in the summer this is going to look really good with a knitted tie, preferably actually, with the buttons undone on the front. Speaking of smartening things up, the navy blazer is your friend for spring summer because it goes with pretty much everything you\'ve already got in your wardrobe, but what you want to look out for when you\'re looking for when you\'re looker for a navy blazer is that it\'s half lined because that\'s really what\'s going to keep you cool as the weather heats up. The hotter months are a really good time to build some colour into your wardrobe. The easiest way to do that is with a pair of colourful chino\'s, such as these here. For ultimate summer points; what you really need to invest in this coming season is a pair of slim tailored chino shorts, such as these, these are every mans way of getting around wearing trousers, when you don\'t actually want to wear trousers. If you\'re looking for a way of appearing more formal but also staying cool in the heat then this is a really great way to go. We\'ve taken the button down, but we\'ve actually swapped it out this time for something that\'s a bit more of a poppling cotton instead of going for that silk tie you have, go for a knitted tie instead. And for me a really easy way to dress down an otherwise kind of dressed up look is to remove your socks and go for a pair of boat shoes like we\'ve got here. You can actually wear stripes together but it\'s important to realise that, if you\'re going to do it then you want to pair smaller stripes with bigger stripes. And when it comes to shoes you\'re going to want something you can slip on really easily after you\'ve been in the water, so these trainers are great. Those bright chinos that you bought to dress down your summer wedding attire needn\'t just be for those summer weddings. If you look here, what we\'ve done is we\'ve paired it up with other pastel shades to create a really great summer look. What we\'ve done is finish it off with some dessert boots.'
